Chocolate in Their Name - Mohammed

Story of Mohammed shared by his mother.

My dear, I want to tell you about my son Mohammed.
He is seven years old, and somehow still carries pure joy in his smile.

Mohammed is a big heart in a small body — the kind of child whose laughter brings life back into a tired home.
He runs even in the cold, plays even through pain, and gives me strength without ever knowing he does.

He is wiser than his years, comforts his siblings, and hides his own fears so I don’t worry.
In his soft voice lives a prayer that both breaks and heals my heart:
“Ya Allah, please protect my mama and my siblings.”

Mohammed loves life, even when life has not always loved him back.
He finds joy in simple things, dreams of gentler tomorrows, and wears his favourite colour — black — with quiet pride.
One day, he tells me, he wants to become an engineer, to build and fix the world around him.

And when I watch him sleep, peaceful and unguarded, I think:
If this world had even half the heart my Mohammed has,
no child would ever have to be brave just to survive.

He is my son. My light.
And every day, I pray Allah protects him as deeply as he protects everyone else.
